Tax Credits

The forms presented in this page will allow you to:

  • claim tax credits for the first time;
  • make a change to the tax credits already claimed.

 


Federal Tax

Line 3 Age amount

  • If you will be 65 or older on December 31st of the current year, you can claim a personal tax credit if your net income for the year, from any source, is under the threshold set by the Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Enter the maximum amount set by the Canada Revenue Agency on line 3.

 

Line 4 Pension income amount

  • You can claim a personal tax credit for up to the amount set by the Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Enter the maximum amount set by the Canada Revenue Agency on line 4.

 

Line 7 Spouse or common-law partner amount

If you are supporting a spouse or common-law partner who lives with you and whose net income for the year is less than the amount set by the Canada Revenue Agency, you can claim a personal tax credit if you meet the criteria.

Line 11 Amounts transferred from your spouse or common-law partner

If your spouse or common-law partner is not using all of his or her amounts on his or her income tax return, you can request a personal tax credit.

Please fill out the section regarding your personal information.

Make sure to sign and date your application in the section Certification.

You do not have to fill out this form each year since it will be automatically adjusted and renewed on each January 1st. On the other hand, if your situation changes, you must inform us.

Section 2 Amount that determines the deduction code

Line 2 Amount transferred from one spouse to the other

You can claim the transfer of tax credits if you do not or if your spouse does not use all of certain amounts in his or her income tax return.

Line 6 Age amount, amount for a person living alone or amount for retirement income

You must refer to Work chart 2 of the form to determine the amount to enter on line 6.

Age amount

  • If you will be age 65 or older on December 31st of the current year, you can claim a personal tax credit if your net income for the year, from any source, is under the threshold set by Revenu Québec. The credit may be reduced depending on your family income.
  • Enter the maximum amount set by Revenu Québec.

 

Amount for a person living alone

If you live alone, you can claim a personal tax credit up to the amount set by Revenu Québec. The credit may be reduced depending on your family income.

Amount for retirement income

You can claim a tax credit up to the amount set by Revenu Québec. The credit will be reduced depending on your family income.

Notes about the form to fill out

 

Please fill out section 1 Information about the employee or beneficiary.

Make sure to fill out the part called Estimated net family income from Work chart 2 if you claim one of the following amounts: age amount, amount for a person living alone or amount for retirement income.

Make sure to transfer the amount on line 98 in Work chart 2 on line 6 of the form.

Attach the work chart(s) pertaining to your claim in order for us to apply the tax credits requested.

Make sure to sign and date your claim on section 6 Signature.
