When you leave your job, you are age 55 or over and a member of the PPMP

Plan concerned: the PPMP


Since you are age 55 or over and you no longer work, you can start receiving your retirement pension immediately.

However, a permanent reduction (6% per year) due to early payment of the pension will be applied to your basic pension if you are in one of the following situations and do not meet any of the following requirements:

Eligibility requirements

You became qualified for the PPMP before 1 January 2013.

or

Your qualification period started before 1 January 2013.

or

Your qualification period started after 31 December 2012, and your additional five-year period was completed.

You are at least age 61 (regardless of the number of years of service).

or

You are at least age 56 and have accrued 35 years of service credited for eligibility purposes.

or

You are at least age 58 and have reached the 90 factor (age + years of service credited for eligibility purposes).

Your qualification period started after 31 December 2012, and your additional five-year period is not completed.

You are at least age 61 (regardless of the number of years of service).

or

You have accrued 35 years of service credited for eligibility purposes.

or

You are at least age 60 and have reached the 90 factor (age + years of service credited for eligibility purposes).

 

Note that going to work for an organization not covered by one of the public-sector pension plans we administer (e.g. a private organization) will have no impact on the public-sector pension you will receive from Retraite Québec.
