When you leave your job, you are age 55 or over and a member of the RREGOP

Plan concerned: The RREGOP

Since you are age 55 or over, you can start receiving your retirement pension immediately.

However, a permanent reduction due to early payment will be applied to your basic pension if you do not meet either of the following requirements:

  • You are at least age 61 (regardless of your number of years of service)
    or
  • You have at least 35 years of service credited for eligibility purposes (regardless of your age)
    or
  • You are at least age 60 and have reached the 90 factor
(age + years of service credited for eligibility purposes).

Note that going to work for an organization not covered by one of the public-sector pension plans we administer (e.g. a private organization) will have no impact on the public-sector pension you will receive from Retraite Québec.
