Are you a CARRA beneficiary who lives outside Québec?
You must complete the "Statement of a beneficiary residing outside Québec".

Beginning in January 2012, CARRA is sending out a mass mailing of the form entitled "Statement of a beneficiary residing outside Québec This link will open in a new window." (098). If you are a CARRA beneficiary living outside Québec, you should be aware that you must fill out the form upon receiving it and return to CARRA before the deadline indicated in the letter sent with the form. If you fail to fill out the form, your payments could be suspended.

Every two years, CARRA verifies whether it must or must not continue the periodic payments of the retirement pension of beneficiaries residing outside Québec, i.e. beneficiaries whose address registered with CARRA is located outside Québec. The verification process consists in confirming the contact information of the beneficiaries and ensuring that they are still alive, so that they can continue to receive their retirement pension.

What happens if you do not return the form?

If CARRA cannot communicate with a beneficiary or establish his or her identity because the form is not returned after a reminder is sent, it will, in keeping with the law, stop paying the retirement pension. However, if CARRA learns of the death of the beneficiary, the pension will stop being paid on the first day of the month following the death.

The form entitled "Statement of a beneficiary residing outside Québec This link will open in a new window." (098) is now on line in French and English in the section Forms > List of subjects > Retirement pension.

For any information on the subject, contact CARRA.
